UK and international organisation stimulating and supporting contemporary visual arts practice through publishing, research and advocacy. Our programmes are designed to meet the professional needs of visual and applied artists and to create critical engagement across the wider visual arts sector, identifying changing trends and responding to new needs.

The AIR: Artists Interaction and Representation membership scheme provides significant benefits for practising artists including comprehensive online Jobs and opportunities service, inspirational expert resources and professional development toolkits and guides, artists’ events, critical discourse, £5m Public and Products Liability Insurance and a tailored Artists Insurance Policy.  Led by an Artists’ advisory group who steer research and development, AIR is a member of the European Council of Artists.

The NAN initiative steered by an Artists’ advisory group. It provides professional development opportunities through peer-reviewed bursaries for artists, enabling them to develop their networks and practice.

Through a portfolio of specialist sites and social networking tools including Interface, Artists Talking and Degrees unedited, a-n provides unfiltered platforms for the visual arts community to discuss and explore a range of contemporary practice.

a-n works with national, regional partners to deliver AIRTME, Fast Forward and Future forecast programmes and is a partner in Artquest’s Artelier and DACS’ Payback.
