AA2A Artists Access to Art Colleges

AA2A is a national project currently operating in 31 visual art and design departments in art colleges and universities across England. AA2A offers artists and designer-makers the opportunity to undertake a period of research or realise a project using a college’s facilities such as workshops, lending library and lecture programme. Starting in October 2010 and running until April 2011, approximately 125 artists and makers will be given at least 100 hours access to facilities free of charge and a materials/travel grant of £220 is usually available. Artists will also have a profile and be able to record their project on the AA2A networking site  www.AA2A.biz

Interaction with students is a key part of the schemes. AA2A schemes aim to benefit students and Colleges through their interaction with practising artists.

For full eligibility criteria and details of how to apply see:   www.aa2a.org/apply

Closing dates for applications vary but all are in September 2010 and application packs will be available directly from the participating colleges.
