National Federation for Artists’ Studio Providers (NFASP)

NFASP is the national umbrella body representing the interests of all those involved in providing and developing affordable workspace for artists.  The Federation champions and supports the work of studio groups and campaigns to influence policy and decision-making in support of the studios sector and artists.  The Federation currently has 85 Studio and Associate Studio members which provide space and other forms of support for around 5000 artists.

The Federation provides a range of professional development services to studio providers and artists’ groups to help them deliver effective, sustainable, afforable workspace and other forms of support to visual artists, enabling them to develop their practice, research, innovate and make work and play an active role in our culture and communities.  In many cases this support extends to artists who do not have physical studio space as more and more groups develop associate schemes and professional development programmes aimed at supporting non studio-holders and creating a vibrant artistic network in their area with studios at the hub.

The services we provide include:

- guidance notes, toolkits, briefings and information specifically for studio providers

- one-to-one advice for members on topics ranging from setting up studios and negotiating a lease, to governance and business rates

- fostering peer networking and support through events such as conferences and training sessions which maximise skills, knowledge, ideas and good practice
